This workshop provides an overview of specific legal requirements about the unique needs of children with autism, including a focus on special education during COVID-19. This workshop addresses current trends, legal standards, and evaluation rights and procedures including guidance and strategies to address the special education needs of youth with autism during the pandemic. There will be an emphasis on the requirement that children with autism receive the full range of instruction and services necessary to meet their unique needs, and provide educational opportunities reflecting potential in inclusive settings.
