Register for Planning for Housing: Considerations for parents with children of transition age

January 22, 2020 at 1:00pm Eastern

Presenter: Sandra Heller, Co-Chair of MFOFC

It is possible to develop housing centered around a person's preferences and lifestyle while maintaining support as needed.

Sandra will share the approach she and her son Craig, who has Down Syndrome, took to develop a living arrangement that allows him to maintain independence and make choices in how he spends time outside work. She will also discuss important considerations such as the right time for parents to begin planning, available resources, the process of hiring support professionals and, above all, creating a vision for the future.

If you are the parent of a child with a disability who is 14-16 years or older, and are thinking about their transition to adulthood, this webinar is for you.
