SUMMARY:Fact vs. Fiction – Understanding COVID-19 Vaccines
DESCRIPTION:All our lives have been disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic in many ways. But the release of the COVID-19 vaccines brings hope, and, for many people, lots of questions. In this interactive session, you will hear a breakdown of the vaccines – how they are developed and what to expect if you get one – and you will learn about ways to communicate your questions about the vaccine with your own doctor. You will even have an opportunity to submit your own questions during registration.\nRegister here: https://bit.ly/3joWYUU\n \nFeaturing\nDr. Julien Dedier, M.D., M.P.H,\nInternal Medicine Specialist, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Boston University School of Medicine, Co-Investigator, All of Us Research Program\nDr. Dedier received his medical degree from Northwestern University. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital and obtained a Masters of Public Health degree in quantitative research methods at the Harvard School of Public Health. He has served as a primary care provider to Boston Medical Center’s safety-net population for over 20 years, and has conducted multiple human subjects research studies in these settings, working successfully with clinical practices at Boston Medical Center and at community health centers to recruit primary care patients and providers for research. His research interests have included understanding the influence of ethnic, cultural, and environmental factors on risk-related behaviors for cardiovascular disease and cancer among underprivileged urban minority groups. As a co-investigator for the All of Us Research Program, he is committed to building a research resource that reflects the rich diversity of the US population.\nModerated by\nLoida Dominguez,\nOutreach Coordinator, MassFamilies and Mom to Nikki, and CEO InPower Love Coaching\nLoida Dominguez is the CEO of a Women Empowerment brand called InPower Love Coaching. In her business she helps women better identify themselves with the present moment, so that they can feel empowered by their decisions and live a life of freedom created by choice. She is a single mom of a 16 year old boy. Her son was born with Down Syndrome and he is the light of her life. She is a devoted and loving mother that creates change in the way people perceive individuals that need extra support. She offers a perspective of unconditional love and is committed to this being her life’s journey.\n \nThis workshop is being presented free of charge thanks to a partnership between MassFamilies, the All of Us Research Program, and the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council\n
